He is a mentor for the Christopher Reeve Foundation Peer and Family Support Program.

Some of her hobbies include writing, drawing, traveling, and talking– a little too much. She finds guidance and continues to grow in her Christian faith.

  • Karen Chapman

Karen's SCI resulted from a rare form of cancer, Melanocytoma Melanoma, that formed inside of her spinal cord in 2022. She also has a rare syndrome that occurs in approximately 3% of spinal cord injuries, Brown Sequard Syndrome. Symptoms of the SCI started showing long before the tumor was discovered in October 2022. Karen resides in Indianapolis and is the Finance Manager for the Indy Art Center. She loves music, making pottery, good food and gardening- she might be considered a "crazy house plant lady" too.
